Welcome to Ray's Way Ski Tuning

This website provides tuning education and state of the art tuning tools for fast, skill-free, superior, daily maintenance of all snow gear.  If you want predictable performance from your snow gear everyday, then RAY'S WAY is your most effective strategy!

Tuning traditional skis meant flattening the base from edge to edges and sharpening the side edges at 90 degrees to the base.  With modern skis, tuning is about edge geometry which can require .5 to 1 degree of base angle and 2 to 4 degrees of side bevel angle.

Shaped skis/gear require a very exact state of tune in order to provide their design-intended performance. To meet these needs I took a totally different approach to tool design .  As a result, RAY'S WAY tools will look very unfamiliar to traditional tuners.  My tools don't require vises or heavy effort because of the Line Contact Technology used in their design.  The RAY'S WAY tuning process makes your daily maintenance effortless, fast and accurate. The skill is built into the tools - you cannot damage your gear with RAY'S WAY.  (File tuning is a poor choice for daily maintenance as it shortens the life of your gear because file tuning always removes more material than necessary.)

Used every day or two, a few minutes with RAY'S WAY will ensure that your gear always performs. RAY'S WAY is designed to remove a minimum amount of material to quickly create an optimum tune.  Isn't tuning about obtaining the maximum performance for your gear for the least amount of effort and time?  ISN'T IT??

If your snow gear is in tough shape, a shop tune is a must to establish a base point from which to maintain your gear.  After that the RAY'S WAY tuning process is all you need.

Hot waxing alone consumes as much time as an entire RAY'S WAY tune-up, including waxing with the waxWHIZard!
