The event was due to take place in October but has been called off due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.  The organisers claim it will go ahead in 2023. A show in Birmingham remains set to go ahead. NEW

Plans had been going ahead a pace and last week the organisers, the Smart Group, issued a press release with further details of the planned show including exhibitors and some details of what was on offer.

Now the festival has been cancelled.

“We have been so excited to bring you the London Ski Snowboard Festival 2022 but we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Festival,” said a statement from the organisers.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are now preparing for a major venue launch and in order to continue executing at a high standard we require our full team to bring the project to life.

“We are pleased to have acquired a new partner who are keen to take on the organisation of the Festival for 2023.”

People who have already bought a ticket will be contacted “in due course”.

An invited audience was given a taste of what was to come last November.

They were hoping to attract 18,000 visitors and 120 exhibitors.

30% to 35% were to be retail exhibitors and brands.

The rest were to have been resorts and regional/national tourist offices.

The new show was to have replaced the old festival that was run by Telegraph Events.

It was axed in early March 2020, ahead of the pandemic, as we reported at the time:
