Summer is fast approaching, and the tipping point has been reached—there are now more ski resorts closed than there are open. If you still want lift-served turns, you might have to travel a bit.

There are 817 ski resorts in North America, and just 17 (2%) remain open. Of those 17, just nine are open daily through the week.

These are the ski resorts in North America that are open for you this weekend and their projected closing dates:

Colorado:

  • Winter Park – Mary Jane only through May
  • Breck – 5/15
  • A-Basin – mid-June

California:

  • Palisades Tahoe – 5/30 (weekends only after 5/1)
  • Mammoth – 5/30

PNW:

  • Crystal Mountain, WA – 5/30 (Fri, Sat, Sun only)
  • Mt Bachelor, OR – 5/29 (8:30 am – 1:30 pm daily, conditions permitting)
  • Timberline Lodge, OR – through summer as long as conditions allow

Utah:

  • Snowbird – June (Fri, Sat, Sun only)

Northeast:

  • Jay Peak, VT – 5/15 (weekend only)
  • Killington, VT – Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as long as conditions permit

Alaska:

  • Alyeska – through May (weekends only)

Canada:

  • Grouse Mountain, BC – 5/15 (Wed through Sunday only)
  • Mont-Miller, QC – 5/14 (Saturday only)
  • Sommet Saint-Sauveur, QC – 5/15 (weekends only)
  • Sunshine Village, AB – 5/23
  • Whistler Blackcomb, BC – Whistler Mountain closed, Blackcomb open through 5/23
